Positive Change Training Courses at Hillcroft (Free)

Each week our tutors explore different aspects of self development courses from confidence building, anger management, emotional resilience and more. 

The courses are aimed at women who need self-management skills in order to progress to further education or training, employment or personal development. Difficulties that some woment need to address might include:

  • Low self-esteem
  • Mental health difficulties
  • Learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia
  • Poor prior experience of education
  • Cultural barriers to participating in education and employment
  • Long-term unemployment, or returning to education after having children
  • Recovery from abusive relationships

What are the intended outcomes?

  • First steps into learning, including basic skills
  • Confidence building
  • Identifying strengths and areas for development
  • Identifying personal barriers to progression, and steps to address them in order to progress to mainstream education and training or employment
  • Creating a personal plan with goals for progression to work, or greater independence

Entry Requirements/ Personal competencies needed

  • Willingness to begin to reflect on own strengths and areas for development
  • Willingness to begin to develop study skills, self-management skills and personal responsibility in order to take next steps
