Using IT at College
You’ll find modern PC and Mac suites across the college, including in classrooms and our Learning Resource Centre. You’re also very welcome to bring your own laptop or tablet to work on while you’re here.
Free WiFi is available throughout our campus, and we have helpful staff on hand if you need a bit of support getting set up.
Free WiFi for Students and Staff
We recommend you connect to Eduroam—our main college WiFi service. It’s fast, secure and made especially for students and staff.
Visitors and Guests
If you’re visiting and don’t have access to Eduroam, you can still get online using WiFi Guest (The Cloud). Just choose it from your available networks, open your browser and follow the on-screen instructions to register or log in.
Please note: WiFi Guest has limited speed and is best for basic browsing or checking email.
Digital Tools for Learning
To join your classes or complete assignments online, you’ll need to access the following:
- Your College Email
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Moodle – our online learning platform
- Microsoft Teams – for remote classes and tutor support
Working on Your Own Device
Bringing your own laptop or tablet to college? That’s no problem! Just take a quick look at our BYOD policy to help you get set up and stay secure.
WiFi Printing
Need to print something? You can print from your own device using our WiFi printing service.
IT Policies
It’s important to use our systems safely and respectfully. You can find out more in our Policies, it’s a quick read and helps everyone stay safe online.
Need help getting connected?
Just ask a member of staff at Reception, in the Learning Resource Centre or speak to your tutor. We’re always happy to help you get up and running.
