Cyanotype Printmaking
This practical, beginner-friendly course introduces learners to cyanotype printmaking, an early photographic process known for its distinctive blue images. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on experimentation, learners will explore both traditional and contemporary approaches to cyanotype using photographic imagery, hand-drawn elements and found objects.
Learners will be encouraged and supported to work from their own reference material, such as photographs, drawings or personal imagery, to develop individual creative outcomes. The course is process-led and accessible, designed to build confidence while encouraging creative experimentation. Learners will produce a range of finished cyanotype prints to take home.
Painted Sublimation Printing: Colour, Layering & Fabric
This practical and experimental workshop introduces learners to painted sublimation printing, a contemporary print process that uses heat-transfer inks and a heat press to transfer images onto paper and fabric. Learners will explore painting, mark-making, layering and cut-out shapes to create vibrant printed outcomes.
The course is process-led and accessible, making it suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience in art, design or textiles. Learners will be guided and supported to work from their own reference material or from source materials provided, such as photographs, drawings or personal imagery, to develop individual creative outcomes.
The emphasis is on experimentation, colour and surface, with opportunities to produce both exploratory test prints and a finished silk scarf or fabric piece.
Painting into Monotype: Additive, Reductive & Stencil Techniques
This practical, process-led course introduces learners to monotype printmaking through painterly approaches to image-making. Learners will explore additive and reductive methods, stencils, layering and mark-making to create expressive, one-off prints with strong visual impact.
The course is suitable for beginners and mixed-ability learners and is particularly well suited to those with an interest in painting, drawing or mixed media. Learners will be encouraged and guided to work from their own reference material, such as photographs, drawings or personal imagery, to develop individual creative outcomes. The emphasis is on experimentation, confidence-building and discovering the creative possibilities of monotype printing.
