Digital and Creative Technology Students Visit the BFI
30 September 2026Last week, learners from RHACC’s Digital and Creative Technology department visited the BFI Reuben Library and BFI National Archive for an inspiring behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s leading film and television institutions.
The visit gave students the opportunity to explore the BFI’s extensive collections and discover more about film history, research, archiving and preservation. It provided valuable insight into the work that goes into protecting the UK’s screen heritage and making it accessible for future generations.
As part of the visit, students attended a talk delivered by Ian O’Sullivan from the British Film Institute, who shared his knowledge and experience of the screen industries. The session offered learners a fascinating introduction to the many careers, specialist roles and opportunities that exist within the creative sector.
Experiences such as this help learners connect their studies with the wider creative industries, bringing classroom learning to life and providing valuable insight into potential career pathways.
We would like to thank the British Film Institute and Ian O’Sullivan for their warm welcome and for providing such an informative and engaging experience for our learners. We look forward to creating more opportunities for students to engage with industry professionals and gain first-hand experience of the creative sector.
